Overton Honey Company produces local honey from apiaries dotted around Wakefield, so every jar reflects the flowers, hedgerows and gardens of this corner of West Yorkshire. You can buy direct from the company, or pick up a jar at one of several trusted local stockists. R.H Binks and Sons carry it at both their East Ardsley (WF3 2EY) and Horbury (WF4 5AB) shops, and you’ll also find it at Redwood Farm Shop near Ardsley Reservoir. At Horncastle Farm Shop (WF4 2HN) the honey is made right there on site, which makes it about as local as honey gets. Whichever you choose, you’re buying honey made by bees foraging within a few miles of where you live, and supporting a Wakefield beekeeping business at the same time.
