Romney Marshes Honey is produced from apiaries located across the unique and historic marsh landscapes of Kent and East Sussex. These extensive marshes provide a rich and varied forage environment, allowing bees to collect nectar from a diverse range of wildflowers, trees, hedgerows, and coastal plants.
The Romney Marshes consist of several distinct marshes and levels, each contributing its own character to the honey. Apiaries are located throughout Romney Marsh between New Romney and Appledore, as well as Walland Marsh along the Kent and East Sussex border. Additional locations include East Guldeford Level near Rye, Denge Marsh and the coastal landscapes of Denge Beach and Dungeness, and the Rother Levels surrounding the Isle of Oxney.
The area is known for their rich biodiversity and traditional marshland habitat. This varied forage results in truly local honey that reflects the natural environment of the region.
Honey from these marshes captures the character of this distinctive coastal landscape, shaped by wild forage, open skies, and centuries old marsh ecology.
